Malene Kjerulf Christensen holds a master’s degree in Political Science from Aarhus University. She has been working with management support in different setups for the last 10 years.
National and international job experience
Malene started her career within management support in Brussels in 2007 working in the American company Georgia-Pacific, which is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of soft paper (including the Lotus brand toilet paper and paper towels). The company has its European headquarters in Brussels coordinating the European operations with the headquarters in the USA.
After Brussels, Malene moved to Aalborg and started working at Universal Foundation, an entrepreneurial company at Port of Aalborg, designing foundations for offshore wind turbines.
For the last 5 years Malene has been working at FlexDanmark, a joint IT-venture owned by the Public Transport Authorities in Denmark operating IT-systems for flextrafikken (public transportation) in Denmark.
A good working day for Malene is when she gets to solve many different tasks and at the same time has fun with her colleagues. She highly values structure, teamwork, flexibility, and communication in her job.
Private life
Malene lives in Støvring south of Aalborg with her husband Benjamin and their two children Emilie (12 years old) and Tobias (9 years old) and a crazy cat.
The family loves travelling. They dream of spending Christmas in Australia together with Malene’s Australian “brother”, Michael, who stayed with her family 33 years ago as an exchange student.
Malene’s hobbies include jumping fitness, playing badminton, and spending a lot of hours in the weekdays and weekends with Kids’ sport (Tobias plays badminton and Emilie is a swimmer).
